Email - Gmail Setup

Setting up your domain email to work with Gmail.

Gmail auto checks your POP3 accounts based on how frequently you receive email. To manually retrieve, you have to go to your settings, and under Check mail from other accounts, click - Check mail now.


Setup POP3

  1. Gmail settings - cog wheel at the top right
  2. See all settings
  3. Accounts and Import
  4. Check mail from other accounts
    1. Add a mail account
  5. Type in full email address
  6. Next
  7. Import emails from my other account (POP3) - already selected
  8. Next
  9. Fill out form
    1. Username: full email
    2. Password: provided to you
    3. POP Server: mail.domain.com (already filled out)
    4. Port: 995
    5. Check the box - Always use a secure connection
  10. Add Account

Send Mail As

Skip to step 4 if you just setup your POP3
  1. Gmail settings - cog wheel at the top right
  2. See all settings
  3. Accounts and Import
  4. Send mail as
    1. Add another email address
  5. Type the name you want to send as (they see as the sender)
  6. Type your full email address
  7. Leave checked - Treat as an alias
  8. Next Step
  9. Fill out form
    1. SMTP Server: mail.domain.com (already filled out)
    2. Port: 465
    3. Username: full email
    4. Password: provided to you
    5. Secure connection using TLS (already selected)
  10. Add Account
  11. It will prompt you to confirm and will send you an email. You will probably be best to open a new tab, then go back to your gmail inbox. The email will likely appear there. If not, you can manually check now (see instructions at the top).
